Belgian dancer Jotka Bauwens and Gambian dancer Abdoulie Bah are both about the same age, each working on a dance career, but living in two very different worlds. Elements of Western contemporary dance and traditional Gambian dance fuse together in a unique creation.
In early July, the two dancers met in Banjul, The Gambia's capital city. For a week, their diverse backgrounds, training and professional experiences fused into a quirky and somewhat contrary duet. Rules and forms are thrown out of the window in this little duet of resistance. A blindfolded dance between two strangers searching for common ground between two worlds. What can they fight for together? How do they love?
During TAZ, this duet will take place at different times and locations.
