The City of Ostend encourages intercultural encounters and intercultural learning between students and teachers and supports exchange trips to the partner school or to carry out projects in Banjul. These exchange trips have been organised since 2005 and more than 1,000 students and teachers have already visited our partner city in The Gambia. Onze-Lieve-Vrouwecollege, Sint-Jozefsinstituut, Vrij Technisch Instituut, Vesaliusinstituut, SBSO Ter Zee, Sint-Andreasinstituut and De Studio are currently involved in the realisation of the immersion trips to The Gambia.
